In this course, students will learn the theoretical foundations and practical applications of safely and effectively integrating media and technology in the classroom. This course will introduce students to digital tools and pedagogical strategies that promote learning, creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and content creation. The course will also provide foundational knowledge on media education, online learning resources, virtual learning environments, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies that can support and enhance teaching and learning. LDT 4283. Foundations of AI for Educators. (3-0) 3 Credit Hours.

In this course, students will explore the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence and its applications in educational settings. The course will introduce AI-driven tools that support instruction and student engagement. Students will also explore how AI enhances personalized learning through adaptive technologies, automated feedback, and curriculum customization to support differentiated learning and meet individual student needs. This course explores the ethical, legal, and societal implications of artificial intelligence in education. Students will analyze AI-generated literature, poetry, music, and visual arts while engaging in critical debates on originality, authorship, and ethical concerns in AI-assisted creativity. In this course, students will explore AI tools for storytelling, images, graphics, music, games, motion-based media, and immersive environments, as well as generative AI models and prompting techniques for creativity. The course emphasizes hands-on experimentation with AI tools to create multimodal content, design engaging experiences, and foster self-expression in education, training, and entertainment.
